Kind of some off-the-topic info regarding Neighbours episodes for RTE IRELAND

Due to Neighbours moving from the BBC to Channel Five effective Monday 11 Feb, RTE are taking full advantage of this move as they are set to gain ALOT more veiwers.

* RTE will broadcast the first transmission of Neighbours at 1.55pm on RTE ONE directly after Home and Away!!

* That same episode will be repeated at 5.35pm on RTE TWO.

RTE look set to gain most Northern Ireland viewers who can receive the channel due to the UK network move, hence RTE creating an Aussie Hour from 1.25pm on RTE One every weekday!

RTE will continue to broadcast Neighbours in the unedited aussie version as it has done for the last 10 years!

RTE will launch an on-screen avertising campagin to reflect the change.

Only like with H&A RTE will not be showing the same episode on the same day as Five. In the case of Neighbours they will be one episode behind.

The reason for this is, RTE did not want to have to simulcast Neighbours - which would mean reworking their schedule to fit around Channel 5. It is only one episode behind and I agree with RTE....they shouldn't have to change their schedule just because Five wont let them show episodes first!

I dont understand. RTE times would not have been before Five's?

Has there been any advertising promos reflecting the change on RTE yet??

Yes which is odd considering they've never bothered to do one for the much higher rated H&A.

The 5.30 repeat on RTE Two would have to be simulcast if they took the same episode!

I wouldn't worry mate, I think RTE are doing the right thing staying one episode behind....why should they change their schedules just because of Five!

Can you post a promo on YouTube if you have one....interested to see how it looks!

Why would they have had to have done that?

And they used a stupid (what seems to be) fake Australian accent as a voiceover. So typical!

Yes it is fake, its one of the regular continuity announcers.
