Recycling of Storylines

New to all this, but felt the need to register and have an opinion!! I'm a writer, and I'm a big fan of H&A - watched it on and off for years, and thought last year was one of the best yet...I agree that you can't help but repeat storylines over a 17-18 year period...BUT!!!!! I know the Zoe stalker storyline was pure genius in soap world, and had me hooked...but when Sally was effectively stalked by Diesel a few weeks later, and now Irene's being poisoned by Corey...surely they could wait at least two or three years before running the same thing again?!!!!

I find it deeply ironic that, just a few months after Zoe had killed off a few guest characters and tied Sally up in an old warehouse; psycho Diesel almost stepped into Zoe's shoes; Jesse threw a molotov cocktail at Josie and then killed Chloe - Jack arrives, and Alf stands on the beach with his fishing rod telling him "It's a quiet town, you won't have any problems here..." Fantastic. I love it!!!!!!

But yeah - recycling...all for it. But not the same story every five weeks, please. And kill off Amanda - totally unconvincing, one dimensional character in a series of pretty well rounded ones...At least Izzy in Neighbours has redeeming qualities and sends herself into a crisis every time she's a bitch!...

I have noticed - tho I definitely don't myself, I'm much more interested in character-driven storylines - that a lot of ppl (on this forum anyway) seem to LOVE the big dramas (murders/stalkers/car crashes etc). I think that's why H&A does them (too) often, to keep those viewers hooked.
