The reason Josh comes back was probably explained on the show today or at least over the coming days I presume or all those texts we've seen over the past month.

What happened to Charlotte? Why would Josh feel responsible? I remember seeing Charlotte in Home and Away but I didn't see the episodes when she died.

Whilst having a final swim down at the beach (She was heading overseas), Charlotte got into difficulties. When she was rescued and pulled to shore, I think Josh hesitated in saving her as he was the Life Guard. Charlotte was taken to hospital, but due to lack of oxygen to the brain or something Jude made the difficult decision to switch of her life support.
