I'm Actually Missing...

You know, it hadn't occurred to me before, but reading through this thread made me realise why Grange Hill has gone back to being my fave soap. The teenagers seem much more realistic.

Also, I don't like the way H&A (tho, to be fair, it's not just H&A that does this, it's every single soap except Grange Hill) suddenly change characters' personalities! Josh West is the latest, a couple of years ago he was a nice guy and now all of a sudden he's Mr Nasty...? . (I know they changed Kane too but that was more gradual and so more believable.)

Anyway, just my thoughts on the subject. :)

Everyone always says that about Josh, but I just don't agree!

I think I was the only one who always saw him like that. Sure he was a "nice guy" on the surface for a year or two. But the underlying character was always slimey, snotty little brat. At least he was to me. And his development into Evil Mayor seems totally natural to me.

You aren't the only one who saw it. It was obvious from the start that the spoilt brat inside was just waiting to burst out.

He was always evil... he just didn't know it.

That's true, but the thing that doesn't quite fit is how he became so money-grabbing after previously doing everything he could to rebel against all that. The whole reason he came to the bay and became a lifeguard was because he didn't want a life that revolved around money, and now look at him! I agree he was always a sploiled brat though, probably as a result of his upbringing. He was the only person who actually made Dani seem selfless.

I agree. He was "nice" in his rebellious phase when he was trying to get up Mummy and Daddy's very rish noses. With each passing week the mask slipped at it became very clear from very early on that he was a slimey rat.

I've always enjoyed hating Josh and always thought he was a slimey git. He only did the ''Mr.Nice-guy'' act because he wanted to get into Dani's knickers!! :o:lol:

I miss the Nick, Jade, Seb and Kirsty group because they were the first young people that were there when i started to watch Home and Away.

I also really really miss max because he was the same age as me when i was watching Home and away.

Actually i get on with any teenagers lol!!!

Yeh, that's more what I meant, "nice guy" wasn't exactly the right choice of words.

I completely agree, I always knew Josh would turn out to be evil, he was always too smarmy and pig-headed to be a nice guy. As someone has already said, he went through his "nice" phase to get into Dani's knickers and to rebel against his parents, but now that he's an adult, he's just like his lying, scheming mother.
