Leahs ring

I've noticed before that leahs wedding ring always seems to be on her right hand. Even when Dan first gave it to her, he put it on her right hand. I can't remember if the same was true when she was married to vinnie. I was wondering if, perhaps, this is a greek thing, because i think in austria they wear their wedding rings on the right hand too. i could be wrong about that though.

Has anyone else noticed?

Rings are traditionally worn on the right hand in Norway. When I got engaged last summer, he put it on my right hand, but we switched it over to the left because in the old days they thought there was (is) a vein leading directly to the heart from the left hand, but also because it seems to be more normal to have the ring on the left hand all over the world. We got engaged on-stage on a concert with out favorite band, whom we know the members of (sort of), and when we talked to the afterwards they corrected us and said it should be on the left.

Sorry, long rant with no real answer to your question.

She had the ring on her right hand when she married vinnie too. I read an article about it back then, its a supersticious thing. In some cultures wearing a ring on your left hand before marriage is considered bad luck.

It's not just a Greek thing. It's a European thing - but these days different people wear it on different hands.

I am Ukrainian and we wear wedding rings on the right hand - as do Russians (though Russia isn't technically in Europe).

My Spanish friends who are in their twenties wear their wedding rings on their right hands too.

It's not a superstition. It's just a different culture. We could say English and Australian people are superstitious for wearing a ring on their left hand!!

Going off topic now but personally I don't think it matters how you wear it. It's the exhanging of rings at the wedding ceremony that's important - it symbolises the promises they have made to each other. So it shouldn't matter if you wear the ring on your hands, feet, round your neck... whatever.

True, but if it's on a different finger to the usual one, then people probably won't even realise you are married. Whilst this may not matter to some people, others like people to be able to see that they are married.

I saw some people in Starbucks at the weekend and they had their rings on their right hand too, I think they were German.
