I only remembered that she was supposedly an electrician when reading through this thread....but other than checking the Holden's fuse box when they first arrived on the scene she doesn't seem to have a job as such , which seems very strange.

That's a shame , because it would have been something ''different'' about the character if she had worked in a male dominated job ,i.e. electrician , rather than (yawn) pulling pints in a bar.She does seem to have lost that tom-boyish sparkle that she arrived in the Bay with , and become rather bland since hooking up with Jack ...which is a shame because she was definitely one of my favourites when she first arrived....now there's nothing ''different'' about her.

I don't know how many hours she worked there. I wrote in another thread however what I thought some of the problems storytelling wise were. Most importantly she was keeping a male electrician our of a job, but if she was to look as if she was an electrician full time, the Hunter's would have an electrical problem once a month or we'd only see her at nighttime because she'd be a Miss Zachary's during the day and we don't want to watch someone fixing a plug.

Being a mere female they could have shown her being a really crap electrician , dodgy wiring in the Caravan Park House for example ,resulting in Cassie being electrecuted to death ...Martha would be my fave character for ever if she did that!!!

prancer Posted March 8, 2006 Report Posted March 8, 2006 martha is a tomboy on the show. are martha and jack still together , because they don't act like it, i mean they have not had a scene together for a long time and they do not kiss that much is it me or do they just don't show it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with that. Funnily enough though I think her acting has improved since she arrived. They need to build on that difference she had when she arrived and she could become a great instead of a mediocre boring bland character. They do seem hell bent on knocking any sign of indivuality and uniqueness out of charaters these days and turning them into bland teenage clones. The baddies are just comic book stereotypes, like Josh and Amanda.
