Is it just me, or was the last scene really surreal? Just music and no speech, even though they were obviously speaking to eachother. Also, it seemed very sudden, I know it was sudden how Flynn found out, but it was just like he got home, sat down, then before he could say anything Sally was looking really worried. Obviously it's kind of hard to tell what was said when the vocals were silenced, but I just found it kind of strange.

I was in tears though, it was really sad and I've had a bad day as it is! :(

I guess he needed to tell sally straight away, as i think the doctor said something about 3months. I knew my dad was ill and he had been up the hospital with my mum and one evening when i got in from work to be told your dad only has 2 months left. Like sally i feel to the floor in shock. So its good he told sally and didnt hide it from her, i think sally and flynn have a really open and honest realationship.

I personally thought it was a very touching way of handling the way he would tell Sally, as how could you put enough emotion into the words to really amplify the enormity of the situation? The words for me were not necesary as the visual acting spoke volumes.

I knew this was coming and I was still in tears :-(

I thought the episode as a whole could have been handled much better, preferably by splitting what happened into several episodes as the main problem is that so far it has all been far too rushed. The cynic in me says that the use of music instead of dialogue in the final scene was a cop-out, as it was the only way they could make it seem vaguely realistic after such a bad start. Having Flynn come home and announcing 'Guess what I did today? I went to the hospital and found out that I only have three months to live' when Sally had no idea that there was anything even wrong with him would have been ridiculous. However, despite the dodginess (is that a word?) I have to say that it worked. I was in tears, and I don't even like Flynn that much! The episode was saved by that scene.

Mod-note: Topics merged. Two threads were discussing the same episodes and the same storyline.
