I love music Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 She did live in a caravan recently (well, when I last watched H&A) now you come to mention it, I'd forgotten. It's just I didn't imagine her living in a caravan with a teenage/grown-up son. I know some caravans are as big as bungalows but I thought the ones in the caravan park were just normal size. I'll post chapter 7 later this week BTW, just need to do a bit more work on it. When I finish pottering on the BTTB site...
ste Posted June 26, 2006 Report Posted June 26, 2006 The caravans that belong to the park are small, but you can rent a piece of land for your own caravan (which is what Colleen does) and her caravan is much bigger, with seperate rooms and stuff.
I love music Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Thanks for the info about the caravans etc. I've finally posted chapter 7. Lance isn't in this chapter but I plan to put him in chapter 8.
I love music Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 I really want to work on this fic right now but I have to go out soon grocery shopping and then I have LOADS of housework to do inc washing and ironing (I hate the way working 5 days a week takes up so much writing time! ) but can anyone answer a couple more questions: What is (or what do you think would be) Lance's favourite meal? It's not that important in the fic but I like to get things right if I can. Does around 19/20 sound about the right age for an infant school teacher in Australia? This is important to the fic! Thanks. I'll try and get back online later. I need to work a bit more on chapter 8 but I'm out tonight and going to see friends tomorrow so I think the next update will prob be early next week.
alexx Posted July 8, 2006 Report Posted July 8, 2006 I’m not sure about his favourite but I think maybe Colleen tells him to eat a big fried breakfast on the morning on Sally’s wedding. I’m sure she 'says it’s your favourite...'
Sunny Girl Posted July 9, 2006 Report Posted July 9, 2006 Does around 19/20 sound about the right age for an infant school teacher in Australia? This is important to the fic! It depends. * To be a Teacher Assistant, all you need is a six month Certificate Three in Children's Studies from TAFE. If you want to further develop your skills, then you can do Certificate Four Children's Studies which further allows you to work with kids with special needs. * However to be a fully fledged teacher in Australia, you need a degree from university which takes three years to complete fulltime. So you would probably be around twenty one by the time you had managed to secure teaching work. Hope that helps! Can't wait to hear more about Sally's childhood . . .

If only the actual writers put as much work into getting continuity right as you do!! They should offer you a job.

I'll make her not quite twenty-one and make Lance twenty. Anyone wanna guess who he's got a crush on...? [if only the actual writers put as much work into getting continuity right as you do!! They should offer you a job. Aw, thanks. I think it's easier to get the continuity right when there's only one person working on it! I'm off work all day tomorrow so I'll do a bit more work and post the next chapter then (going to be too busy watching Big Brother tonight!)
I love music Posted July 11, 2006 Report Posted July 11, 2006 Well, I updated. Nearly three hours ago. But as I've just come back online and discovered nobody has bothered reading the next chapter, I'm not sure why I bothered writing it.

But as I've just come back online and discovered nobody has bothered reading the next chapter, I'm not sure why I bothered writing it. Oops, think I was doing a Nikki (as in Big Brother UK) yesterday! Can anyone tell me if 15 is about the right age for Carly at the time this fic is set? Only I can't find her age anywhere. Also, I was reading through all this thread and I was surprised to learn Alf and Ailsa weren't married when H&A began. Is that right? I'm not sure if I'll bring Alf and Ailsa into the fic at this stage (they might have a small part, Alf being a main character in H&A) but I'm curious about that. ETA: I just reached 1000 posts!!!
