I love music Posted March 4, 2006 Report Posted March 4, 2006 Okay, I'm still writing what happened with Angie and Josie as kids in Rock Me Gently, but I'm also quite keen on the idea of writing about Sally's childhood next. As I didn't watch H&A then, can anyone provide any info for me? How old was Sally's character when she first came to the Bay? Did Pippa and Michael adopt her? Did they have any other kids then? And if so what ages and were they adopted or their own? I remember reading Sally's parents drowned in a tragic accident. Can anyone tell me exactly what happened? Does anyone know the age difference between Sally and Kane Phillips? (If the age difference isn't too great I want to include the Phillips brothers in the story if I can as, being right little so-and-sos, they're always fascinating to write about ) I'm not sure I'll get back to this today as I'm expecting friends down soon but hope you can help.

The institutionalised atmosphere oppressed her and once again she ran. Two years after her coming to the home. the authorities in desperation decided to give her a go in a foster home. As Tom and Pippa were admired for their work with the difficult Frank and Carly, the Department asked them to see what they could do with Lynn. During her time in the home Lynn had shared a dormitory with, and befriended a young girl called Sally Keating. When the authorities told Lynn they'd found her a suitable foster family, she refused to leave without Sally. Soon afterwards both Lynn and Sally left to live with Tom and Pippa.

The character bio that Dan gave you is really good just a few things to add. When Sally and Lynn were fostered by the Fletchers (Tom and Pippa) Frank and Carly were already living there and just before they came to the bay Stephen joined them, Sophie came a lot later. They came to the Bay in the pilot episode because Tom lost his job and the department wanted to take the kids so the Flethers sold the house and moved to the country in order to keep the family together. Sally had an imaginary friend called Milko who she consulted on everything and her family tended to play along with her on it, even to the extent of giving Milko a vote in family meetings and going back for him when Sally said he had been left behind. Sally was the youngest when she came to the bay and for years never really had close friends but she was quite close to Lance Smart, Coleen's son even though he was a fair bit older than her and there was a few times when one of them went to the other for advice. If you want stuff on Sally's early years the episode guide on the main site has pretty detailed episode summaries for the early years and the pilot episode (available in the multimedia section of this site) is worth a watch if you want an idea of what Sally was like as a youngster. I think Leah's post earlier is pretty correct on the ages so I reckon Scott probably would have been closer in age to Sally than Kane but as with Sally's friendship with Lance, I could see her and Kane being sympathetic to each other. Look forward to reading this when you get going on it! Nooo, Kane was a tough little cookie! (But not without a conscience!) But, yay, their ages mean I can include the Phillips brothers in the story then! So there was Steven, Frank and Carly when Sally and Lynn (I never heard of a Lynn before!) arrived? From reading everyone's posts, I take it Lynn was about 12 and Steven, Frank and Carly were teenagers? I want to set the story around the time Sally first arrived so I only need to know the people who were in the Bay (but particularly living with Pippa and Tom) then. Milko sounds fascinating, he’ll definitely be in the story! Did Sal ever describe him? Because if not I will. Also, I’m hoping to move the end of this month/early next month so I might start this fic and find I have to put it on hold for a while. Thanks for all the great info so far tho. I want to get all my facts right before I begin so any info is appreciated. I don’t have video on my PC and the sound quality is too poor to use so I'll be relying on reading up only.
I love music Posted March 10, 2006 Report Posted March 10, 2006 I haven't forgotten this, just been v.v.busy with work, social life and getting things together for moving (plus I'm working on Chapter 6 of Rock Me Gently). I've got the first scene of a Sally fic in my head so I'll let it grow for a while (the idea, I mean, not my head ).
