I went to tesco today and i brought the "Whats on TV". At the back it said where it has questions and answers it said "What has happened to the channel five omnibus for Home and Away as i used to watch them? The answer was something on the lines of "Sorry but as it is already shown weekdays and not many have been watching the omnibus. We have used this free space for other shows/ films".

I thought i would start this thread to let people know because the last one was old and i don't think it had an answer.

(Sorry if it has already been said)

Thnx for the info. I cannot believe the cheek of channel 5!?!?!

I know they need to axe things coz of ratings and all but they could at least replace the onimbus with worthy shows! Its sooo boring now...:(

I read that artical today.

Home and away is reapeted the next day, and the catch up on saturday was cancelled becuse of not enough veiwers watch it.

I quite agree to the fact that absoult crap is put in it's place

I don't bother to see what's on five at that time now.

I think removing the omnibus also gives H&A higher ratings in general as more people watch the same showing instead of the audience being spread over three showings.

Could be wrong.

Maybe, but it just means that some viewers will stop watching altogether. I know a few people who watched the omnibus because they weren't home when it was shown through the week. The thing is, they might not bother to record it in the week if they aren't die hard fans, so Five might just lose those viewers completely.

Ah, but they might gain viewers overall for the channel watching whatever they're replacing it with.

Oh, and in that What's On TV Crossword, 14 Across, is Away

Clue: Australian soap, Home and __ (4)
