Gay Character In H+A

Yes I would also like to see a gay character on Home and Away but we'd need someone else too because none of the characters are gay and when you have another one you can shout at the screen "Just get together already!" lol.

I would certainly agree with the introduction of a character who just happens to be gay (many of the moments when I have seen characters from various soaps "realise" they are gay, it has just seemed far too convenient for the storyline, and characters in Home and Away have spent too much time oogling over the opposite sex for it to be convincing that they are anything other than straight or (possibly) bi).

One thing that really annoys my mum is that so many gay couples on television are the focus for huge break ups, as if homosexual couples are less capable of holding together a relationship or are always doomed to break up anyway - so I would really like to see a couple in a successful relationship.

If it's well-handled and realistic, then go ahead (don't make them look like the weirdos of Summer Bay for example) - and I have no preferences about who should get together (with the expection of my point in the first paragraph), so Emmasi can feel free to fantasise.
