Liz Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Definately. Fathers are often overprotective of their daughters especially when it comes to boyfriends. Are you a father? Sorry if your not and your young! lol Just wondering why you said that they are overprotective of their daughters. Why? Probably because I made a comment previously, to which Jack Holden was replying.

Im not a father myself (im 25 by the way) However a lot of fathers are protective over their daughters.

Probably because I made a comment previously, to which Jack Holden was replying. Because I wondered if Jack Holden just thought it because they'd heard it, or from experience of being a father. (I saw his gender was male on profile) I just know that dads are supposed to be a bit stereotyped that way. Well, i've watched quite a few things that dads always say "no boyfriends" etc on.
x..kt..x Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 In general they're protective of their kids but i think more so with daughters.
Jack Holden Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Thats the point I was making. Its the same with brothers and sisters sometimes as well. Sometimes I can be protective of my sister.
x..kt..x Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 Awww, well I'm pretty sure my brother not protective of me! lol
Liz Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 To a point, I think that Tony could a little *too* laid back, but it's good to see that whatever his parenting techniques may be, he has a healthy, (most of the time!) open relationship with his children.
Jack Holden Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 LOL im sure he loves you really. My sister annoys me sometimes but I would be furious if someone, like her boyfriend for example, upset her. lol Well Jack is an adult now and Lucas is practically grown up as well, so maybe he was less laid back when they were younger.
x..kt..x Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 I'd be kind of freaked out if my mum and dad were that laid back and open about stuff. lol
TabbyCool Posted February 26, 2006 Report Posted February 26, 2006 Awww, well I'm pretty sure my brother not protective of me! lol I bet he would be if anyone upset you. Dads and older brothers are usually very protective over the girls in the family, I think they figure that boys can look after themselves more, whereas girls are more fragile! It's kind of sweet though, my brother is 4 years younger than me but would still try to be protective of me. I remember when I was 16 and my 26 year odl boyfriend dumped me! I was devestated and my brother, who was only 12, kept coming to my room to make sure I was ok and bringing me drinks and stuff!
