I agree she deserves happiness but the fact that they keep giving her the dramatic storylines is a testimony to how popular the character is and just how good an actress Kate Ritchie is.

A soap where nothing happens would be boring, that's why we don't watch Neighbours, and also one where everything is happy-happy-joy-joy is crap, so we don't watch, The Care Bears.

Marrying Flynn was a happy event, moving house to where she spent her childhood was a happy event, getting her teaching job was a happy event, getting the caravan park was a happy event, baby Pippas was a happy event, as were Ric and Cassie joining them.

Of course, there have been downsides, like the deaths of 3 dads, a mum, a husband and a foster sister, but over an extended period of time, and to keep things interesting these things will tend to happen.

alot of characters never had a happy life! Selina, Chloe for 2 examples.. Selina was never really happy and Chloe ended up in a abusive relationship only to get out of it to be killed..
