claire_louise Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 The new Hailey is growing on me, even though she has only been on our screens for two days, she is a very mature Hailey, and may be that is a good asset. Time will tell. The thing is though, not to knock Ella, but the character of Hayley isn't mature. Hence her getting pregnant five seconds after her husband died and not knowing who the father was - her late hubby's best friend or an 18-year-old fresh out of school.
Chris H Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I think we will all get used to her i meen is there actually anyone that didnt get used to joel playing flyn? I think its better that we have a decent actress playing Hayley that doesnt look like her. Than on who does but is a rubbish actres!i think Ellas good looking anyway!

We were given years to get used to Joel's portrayal of Flynn, whereas Ella barely stays in the Bay for 6 months.
blackthorne Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I don't like her, not her acting skills or anything, but it seem slike a whole new hayley, like lying about kit, i would never of seen the old hayley doing this, but its like a whole new character, to be honest i am not keen on her at all.

She does seem like a different character, but that's not Ella's fault. I mean, Hayley lying about Kit, that was written in by the scriptwriters, not Ella, she is just acting out the scenes she has been given. Maybe if it was Bec playing out those scenes it might seem more like Hayley, just because we are all used to Bec. I think Ella would have been a good new character, but she doesn't really seem like Hayley. It's not just because she doesn't look like Bec, she just doesn't seem to have the same mannerisms, I have kind of mentally detached Bec's Hayley from Ella's Hayley, which is why it seemed really odd when Hayley was talking to Kit about Noah and her feelings for Kim and Scott. I think that at the back of my mind I see them as 2 different characters.

Don't get me wrong, i really like ella after seeing her in only three shows but it does seem like she is a new character instead of her being a hayley replacement. I like her voice though, it's not as bad as people have said it is.
idiotdrugs Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 i think she'll take a bit of getting used to, because i'm just so used to seeing bec play her. but choosing ella was a step in the right direction, she seems promising (and has a nice voice!) x
ILoveH&Away Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I agree with TabbyCool. Haley seems like a new character but I have only seen Ella acting in 2 episodes. Haley just seems different but Ella has to get into the role. Its probably hard for her to adapt to a role that has been played by another actress for years. Perhaps I am just getting used to a new Haley but what I have seen of Ella is a good actress.

You are right, Hailey's character is imature, even though the character of Hailey has been through so much. The script writers have always kept her this way. My point is, Ella has come in to H&A with a mature attitude, even though she is doing a great job, it is also nice to see the character of Hailey change.
Frankie Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 I think Hayley appeared immature partly because Bec was not able to develop the range that was needed for her to mature in the way that Ella has done. I did not like Hayley as a chacrter beofre Ella came, she bored me as she was always the same and seemed shallow and frankly irritating.... Ella brought more depth to the character and made her far more interesting. Ella also made Kip and Chris and Kip work harder at their acting and they both improved too.
