Chris H Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I think that Ella is a very mature and talanted young lady, yes maybe she should have been cast as a new character although she is probably the best person to play her. When i first heard abnout her on the Australian webiste and saw the pics i thought that maybe they could at least someone that looked remotely like her(the blonde hair blue eyes) also i am a big Fan of Bec. I think well come to get used to here remember Flyn used to played bye a different man but we all got used to him!
bring-back-bobbi Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I remember thinking "he'll last five minutes!" when Joel took over the part of Flynn, but now i really like him, there really isnt any reason why Ella doesnt deserve a fair go. As I said before, Bec left pretty big boots to fill but i for one dont think its the hair colour that makes the character!
britishrules Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 although i'm huge fan of bec , but i think ella can act and has a much deeper voice and i'm sure we'll like her like what happened when h&a replaced flynn , i'm sure we'll like her and carry this storyline with brilliance
Loz Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I'm finding the actress very likeable... but the character is still *Hayley*. Ugh. I wish Ella had been brought in as a character with more depth who hadn't irritated me for years. She's wasted on Hayley.
eib Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I like Ella and I think it's easy to see why she was chosen to take over from Bec. Despite her deep voice, I think she carries a lot of what Bec gave to Hayley as well as her own interpretation of the character. She's a good actress and would have done well in a new role, but we need someone talented enough to pull off a convincing Hayley - and it has nothing to do with hair colour.
Tulip Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 S P O I L E R It seems a waste of talent considering she is going to leave soon anyway. What is the spoiler ? I can't read it here There isn't a spoiler button that I can find on this board so I left a bit of space in case people didn't want to know the spoiler.
HannahLW Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 A few months ago, I watched a few old KK clips, and was completely shocked to find the "old" Flynn in the scenes, even though I saw the change when it first happened! It just seemed really peculiar to me. Now, after seeing Ella in her role as Hayley, after one episode I find it weird to think of Bec as Hayley. Ella played her really well; she had such a hard job with a ready-made storyline, tough backstory, a man who was playing her character's boyfriend...I thought she did a fantastic job. She's made me actually LIKE Hayley now.
jack&martha Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 I liked her but my sister thinks it will be hard to get used to her.
Guevara01 Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 Like so many others on this forum, i am a huge Bec fan. But it is good to see a new perspective of Hayley. I don't mind Ella - as an actress i think she plays Hayley well - although i do agree that it will be really difficlut to get used to. As i like to spoil things for myself i have already seen many Ella scenes, and she is a very good actress. However, it still strikes me that it's like having a completely different character in the scene - not Hayley. I think Ella should have been given a new character, because it would have meant her time on Home and Away was less short lived. Welcome Ella, Goodbye Bec. xxxx
James Martin Posted February 15, 2006 Report Posted February 15, 2006 She doesn't look like Bec. She doesn't talk like Bec. She doesn't act like Bec. She doesn't have the same hair as Bec. She's nothing like Bec. Boo, hiss, etc. ;)
