claire@easypeasy.com Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Yeah, I was surprised when she spoke for the first time for the same reason! I think she will be a good actress, but from first impressions only, I think she should have been cast as a new character, rather than as an existing one. S P O I L E R It seems a waste of talent considering she is going to leave soon anyway. I am looking forward to seeing more of her, though it will be confusing in scenes with her and Kit, they look so similar! Here Here!!!! From first impressions, i think i'm going to like her. The voice threw me a bit, it had a bit of a tomboy hint to it (appologies for the bad stereotyping) but a sort of sexy husky thing at the same time. I think she'll do the character justice but i think she should have had her very own character, it must be difficult to fill the boots Bec left behind What is the spoiler ? I can't read it here
Jack Holden Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 It was a bit weird tonight probabaly because Bec has played her for so long. Im sure we will get used to her
PumpkinBender Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 My first impression is that the new Hayley is a complete munter! Gah... not even a blonde - someone shoot whoever is in charge of continuity. Maybe they should just swap around the actors every week. Just to confused everyone even more.
Frankie Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 That is rather a short sighted thing to say IMO...A lot of aussies were indignant tht Hayley was no longer a dumb blonde but within a few weeks the old one was forgotten and despite the fact that Bec mania ruled down under at the time, Ella proved to be popular because for a start she can act her little socks off...which is more than can be said for Bec. Give the girls a chance. I would rather they replaced her with a re head who can act then with a blonde clone of bec who can not! They got it right.
elaine19 Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 i didn't like change in actors i supose cause she is so diffrent to bec but i've said this before when new actors have played a part and now i like them. i guess only time will tell as we've only seen her a few times.
buffygirl Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I know a age i go on another thread I said this, A lot of people have a hard time excepting change, in this yes fair enough we going to have to get used to another actress playing a chacter we have watched and see grow up and a lot of people love. Bec wated to leave and they needed a replacment for the rest of Hayley's storyline's. I think we should give her a chance before judging her, of course it's strange having someone else play Hayley.

Such a valuable first post You should probably read the forum rules here and read rule 4 in particular! Continuity for continuity's sake is one thing, replacing an actor with another one who looks similar is not always possible, when it is possible, it might not be the best option. Ella was chosen for the role because she can act, which is far better than getting in a Bec look-alike who might be totally wooden. Some people are so shallow
Emmadolly Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 The new Hailey seems to be a good actress, she looks friendly, i suppose will have to make her own mark as Hailey. Even though she is only here for a few months. But i could not help but think, that the lines she had in todays episode, would not of sounded right coming from Bec. ????????????. So the lines did not sound right coming from the new Hailey for some reason.
Hollyoaks Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I thought she came across as more grown up that Bec's Hayley, not just because of her voice, but she just seemed to have a more mature air to her. I liked Bec, and if the brief glimpse we saw of Ella tonight is anything to go by I think I will like her too.
