vikkysmile Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 came up with a good idea , the old issues of inside soap had swap and sell columns so if you get old issues write to the people and see if they have any episodes
nenehcherry2 Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Pretty childish idea, but on the subject I have two issues of inside soap from that era - one from Feb 94 with Bobby on the front cover and one from Nov 93 with Bobby and Greg on the front.
nenehcherry2 Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 I was reading the one from 94, and there is an interview with Wesley Patterson who played Kevin Baker (he dared Shane to abseil down a lighthouse) titled 'I'm Australian too!'. Apparently, he was the first (so I guess only) aboriginal character that the show ever had and when talking of his contact not being extended, he says that the shows executives judge a new stars popularity on the show by the amounts ($$$!!!) offered to them for promotional interviews and shots and the amount of fan-mail they receive and that these are the criteria used when deciding to extend their contracts or not......... WELL I NEVER KNEW THAT!!!!
Jack Holden Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Its a shame soap magazines dont put Home and Away on the cover anymore
ste Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Everything is too commercialised now. Inside Soap used to be a good buy for soap fans but now it's just a money making machine. They will always give EE and Corrie lots more coverage because they are the most popular soaps. And they will always be the most popular soaps because mags like Inside Soap always give them the most coverage. It's a vicious cycle (unless you're an EE/Corrie fan).
-Emily- Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 I wish H&A got more covers, last issue there was only ONE article about H&A and there was one time when there wasn't one. I don't think its fair at all.
Jack Holden Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 In the 1990s when Home and Away got covers it was on ITV so much more popular. Now if they put Home and Away on the cover as the main storyline they say they would sell less copies
