Why don't they have pets?

Pets on tv shows are trained pets so no they wouldnt, think 7th heaven have had that white dog for 10 years now on show.

There was a ginger cat in the first episode (or near enough) of Home and Away. I know because I saw it sitting out the front of Ailsa's shop .

I've heard tales of Sally having a dog once, but I don't remember it.

Now that you mention a rat named Josh, I think I almost remember that...

Scott had his white horse. Does anyone remember it's name??

Ryan had a pet cockroach...for a while...

Some guy in the background of an episode once had a black dog. He walked passed Kim and Hayley. I later saw that same dog wandering about in a Ric and Cassie scene. It's owner was no where in sight.

Then there was that stray german shepherd that Jack and Corey were called to take care of (I don't think that's aired in the UK) but I don't suppose you'd really call it a "pet." Pretty amazing to see a dog around all the same.

But last night, (as I, uh, mentioned in my opening), there were animals! There was a dog - and tasha was patting it like she OWNED it!! - and then two horses wandering about in the background. It was so cool .

And just FYI, many many Australians have pets. Everyone I know either has a pet or has had one at some point. I have a cat, myself.

I don't really know anyone who keeps native animals (mostly because you need a permit or else it's illegal) although my friend does have snakes and lizards. No wambats, I'm afraid. Most native animals will just hang around your house if you feed them (like we used to have wild possums and kookaburras that would let you pat them, that was cool.) And some people find injured or baby wildlife and keep them around the house until their strong enough to go back to the bush. Another friend of mine had some fruit bats for a while. Also cool

So yeah, it's not Australians that don't like animals, just Home and Away people

Travis used to have a pet pig.

His yard was very farm like if I remember.. now that Leah is living in that house it doesn't seem farm like at all.. more like a beach house. (Shane also got tetnis from putting up a wire fence at Travis's place)

But someone should get a pet kangaroo
