Why don't they have pets?

Well, I think in Australia, people must keep the local wildlife as pets unintentionally :lol: , so that's spiders, snakes, koala bears, kangaroos haha!

Come to mention it, none of the cast have pets right now! :o How odd is that? There are loads in UK soaps. Maybe it's not as common in Australia as it is over here?

I think they probably just don't think it's important, surely lots of Australians must have pets.

They have pets on Neighbours and that's Australian.

I think it's probably just because you can't really have storylines about pets, H&A have a tendency of bringing in characters so they can instantly put them in huge storylines, I don't think they really focus on the characters and their families that much, it seems like normal family life is ignored a bit and pushed aside to make way for the next stalker/murderer/natural disaster/pregnancy/death/freak accident etc.

There was a wombat on Country Practice. he was very cute..Fatso they called him. he just sat there. A pet like that would be cool.

Didnt Marilyn have a pair of budgies she called Rod and Rachel?

OMG....the stupid things we remember...:P:rolleyes::lol:

She belonged to Travis if I remember correctly.

I think the reason no-one has pets on Home and Away is because they never close their doors so they would always be escaping. The Fletcher's had 'Dag Dog' though back in 1988.
