Josh Quong Tart who plays Miles Copeland is a descendent of Mei Quong Tart, a Chinese-Australian who ran a well-known tea house in Sydney and was an early Chinese Ambassador. Stephanie Chaves-Jacobsen who played Charlotte Adams was born in Hong Kong. Her mother is Portuguese and her father is Chinese-Norwegian-English (I thought that Jacobsen was a fairly Scandinavian name!). Actually, I have a question that is about a character's birthplace, rather than an actor or actress's. When I've read profiles on Jesse McGregor it says he was an illegal immigrant. I remember Jesse but not this storyline, where was he supposed to have migrated from?

All I can find about Sally Marrett who played Tiegan Brooks is that she was born in Sydney, Australia. Fleur Beaupert who played Stephanie Mboto was also born in Sydney, but her father is Tanzanian and her mother is Anglo-Indian.

When I've read profiles on Jesse McGregor it says he was an illegal immigrant. I remember Jesse but not this storyline, where was he supposed to have migrated from? Jesse was meant to be from New Zealand, as I recall.There was an explanation as to why he didn't have an accent but I don't remember the details.(Anyway, can anyone in the UK tell the difference between Australian and New Zealand accents?)
angelic Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 There were some characters from Home and Away that were from different backgrounds e.g - Jack was Lebanese, Stephanie and Kiberi were Somalian, In Alf's near death experience, he was in the body of a Aboriginal man, as well as Roo dated a Chinese boy . So there were some Actors and Characters that were of diverse backgrounds.
