I've never perceived Ivar to be a English name. It's common in Norway, though.

It's not an English name, he could still be English though. It's hard to say if he sounds English or not, when people are quite well-spoken like he is, their accents are a lot less recognisable.

Yeah, and judging from "Kants", I'd think he'd be German. Don't know, though. But then again, he can be Australian with immigrant-parents.

From IMDB:

"Both his parents were originally from Latvia but they immigrated to Australia before he was born."

Ah, ok. So he is from Australia, but his parents are Latvian.

Isla fisher is from Muscat Oman,

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Where is Muscat Oman, never heard of it

I guess she means Muscat in Oman. Oman is a country.

Isla may have been born there but she is actually Scottish, her grandparents still live in a place called Bathgate which is just outside Edinburgh.

Her parents were expats, and Isla spent a lot of time living in different countries. She doesn't spend much time in Australia anymore because a lot of her relatives live elsewhere.

Yep, Isla is extremely mulit-cultured. Both her parents are Scottish but when they had Isla, they were in Oman, and then they later moved to Oz. :)

Edit: Oman is a country near Saudi Arabia just to clear it up for anyone who wasn't sure :)

Isla is a Scottish name.

In fact Scotland is quite important to Home and Away.

A large number of the characters names at the start of the show were Scottish/Gaelic in origin such as Morag, Celia, Ailsa, Colleen and Donald.
