chatter box Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 what a brillant episode im so happy theve finally got it together barry is so sweet towords irene, i loved the akwardess after they kissed. ok i know theve split in oz but truley in all soaps dont all couples split at least once if not ten times1 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thank you for the PM buffygirl. I hope you are right. I havent been able to watch since they solit up. so I hope someone PM's me if or more hopefully when the writers come to their senses and get them back together. I know I am daft, but I just think they are great together. My mother in law says that Barry is great at the moment so I might watch those episodes when she sends them over, but I will need a stiff drink to do so...LOL..my husband thinks he should be ringing the men in white coats to cart me off...LOL
stra gilr Posted August 12, 2005 Report Posted August 12, 2005 It was a lovley little scene...awwww.....how to do the lovey dovey stuff without making the viewers feel ill...(Ric and Cassie should have been taking notes!!!!))) They are so cute together too.....it made me feel happy...even though I know it will all end in tears...i am just going to go with the flow...so as I said ...awwwwwwww
Wal Harisse Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Barry will have an experience before too long that makes him want to take on teenagers just like Irene does, and he will go to her, and tell her that he wants what she wants, and he still wants to be with her. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I hope you are right, but I doubt they will. The writers seem to have decied they dont wat Irene to be with anyone, and this is just a rehash of the Paris and Irene, "Love you but cant kive with you" scenario. It sucks. They are as you say cute together, splittitng them up?...what a mistaka to maka
Chris J Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Well, I think that's the most Spoiler edits I've ever had to make. Can we please keep this thread at UK pace, as it was originally meant for a story which has just started airing here. I thought the kiss was really sweet. I loved how awkward they both were afterwards, it's been so long since either of them have been in such a situation that they didn't have a clue how to react. I'm glad they're together now, Irene deserves happiness and needs someone to keep her going now Kirsty and Kane are out of the picture.
sir drinks alot Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Thay are so right together hope thay get Married one day.
Boomerang Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 Thay are so right together hope thay get Married one day. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I agree entirtley. Irene has alwasy been my favourite character, what a woman. She and Barry are just so right together. It is obvious really.
sarahwelford Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I am from the uk and was wondering on some of the episode guides i have read it seems barry lives with irene i was just wondering if this is right or not? And i love them together as a couple i was wondering what kind of couple they are romantic funny normal.

And i love them together as a couple i was wondering what kind of couple they are romantic funny normal. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok this is sort of quick run down. They get even closer. Irene goes off on jury service for 3 weeks, he misses her. Whne she comes back they are really pleased to see each other, and decide to move in together. However, Irene is a bit insecure because one of Barrys friends is Beth and Barry is so used to living on his own he sometimes forgets to get home for dinner, or to meet etc.. They are quite funny and touching sometimes.Barry can be surprisngly loving and supportive. There are a lot of traumas over the months. things come to a head after Alf's 60th party. There is a tragedy..see episode summries from about 3995 onwards. Irene and Brry realisee they want dfferent thigs. She wants a house permenently full of kids. He does not. So although they still love each other very much they decide to split because they are going in different directions. Sad really as they are really quite good together. Hope that helps.
Foxy Posted August 13, 2005 Report Posted August 13, 2005 I personally believe..... ....that their split is purely for dramatic purposes. It made the custordy battle more interesting, because had to fight it alone - she would have had a better case if she were with Barry. I also believe that if that hadn't split them u, the stuff with Kim's mum would. Barry would've been unlikely to tell Irene what he's been keeping from Kim so that would've created tension there. By having them apart it got rid of an obstacle that perhaps the writers didn't want to explore. However, I personally think it won't be too long before they are reunited - it's just a hunch I have!

In fact I think they are the only really credible couple, they have that certain on screen something which makes it work. Sarahwelford....yeah...they are really cute together, sometimes funny, not especially romantic, but loving, and caring, especially Barry, who turns out to be a bit of a softie underneath all that bluster.
