Adele_Jericho Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 I've just been looking at several of H&A's cast member's ages and I am in shock of these three especially... -Cassie Turner aka Sharni Vinson is 22! It would be pretty weird for her acting out to be a 15 year old! She certainly looks like one. -Jack Holden aka Paul O'Brien is 27? He only looks about 20! That'd also be weird as he plays the boyfriend of 20 year old Jodi Gordon. -Mark Furze is 19? He only looks 17.
Tamxxx Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Ok there is a huge difference between actors ages and their characters, here are a few of their ages: Isabel Lucas: 20-21 acting: 17-18 Sharni Vinson: 22-23 acting- 16-17 Mark furze: 19-20 acting 16-17 Jason smith: 21-22 acting 18-19 Only Indianna and I think Lucas is just one year older in real life. But it is astonishing I mean Sharni is older then tammin in real life only by a month but its like tammin acting as a 16 year old. So you can see how much difference between their real life ages are. When Isabel lucas first came on home and away she was acting as a 15 year old when in real life she was 18 and a half. And sharni, no way looks 16 , when she first came on home and away I thought she was 24 but thats ok I only predicted 2 years above her age. Seriously , sharni, Isabel, Jason , Jodi, Chris , should be all acting as adults. They are in their 20s
Heaven Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 rhys will become 18 years , on the end of the year ( 22 november) and indi is one year older as me , so she is becomming 16 this year
Tamxxx Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 The youngets actors ive seen so far throught home and away was Chrisitie hayes she came at 13 Kate Ritchie: came at 8-9 years old Indianna Evans: 13-14 Tobi Atkins- 14-15 Sebastian Emalogue: 12 Those were the younger actors of home and away. Most people audtioned around 17 onwards.
The Cure Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 Surely those aren't the absolute youngest?? What about Issac Gorman (Ryan Baker)? He can't be more than 7 years old. And how about Cameron and Nicholas Stevens (Vincent Patterson Jr)? They've been credited since they were about 1. Although I don't know if they count as "actors" since they don't speak. Issac definetley counts though. Also Ryan Clark began life as Sam Marshall when he was about 6 or so. On the other end of the spectrum, I was thinking just the other day, watching Sally and Cassie chatting in the kitchen, how is it that these two are foster mother and daughter?? They seem much more like sisters. It just seems so unrealistc that Sally would play parent to and "ground" this girl who appears to be only a couple of years younger than herself. I suppose it looks odd because Sharni is 22 and Kate is about 26, so of course in "real life" they really are very close in age. I do think it was a mistake on behalf of TPTB to have Ric and Cassie as 15/16 year olds. I suppose it was done that way in order to create friendships and storylines for Henry and Matilda, but as a group together they looked so daft, like Ric and Cassie were babysitting the other two, or something. Ric and Cassie would work much better as 18 year olds, in the same school year as Robbie and Tasha and Kim. The freindship bettwen Cassie/Martha/Tasha is also much better and more realistic than having Ric and Cassie hang around with little Henry and Mattie. But, I suppose that is the way it had to be done in order for the storylines (Sally and Flynn fostering, the Ric/Mattie friendship/relationship etc) to work. I future, however I do think that the young actors who play a group of characters, who are supposed to be the same age, should roughly be the same age as each other at least, otherwise it just ends up looking incredibly silly. (eg. Chris, Isabel, Jason and Jodi may be a few years older than their characters in real life, but at least the four actors are of similar ages to each other, so look realistic as a group).
AngelRose Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 There's also the fact that when actors who can do so play younger than they actually are it can get the production team round a whole heap of laws about minors working on a set. That & the actor may have already been through some of the 'growing pains' of their character & hence be able to act them better if need be. Makes life a lot easier when you're producing something that airs 5 times a week I guess!
TabbyCool Posted January 10, 2006 Report Posted January 10, 2006 I've just been looking at several of H&A's cast member's ages and I am in shock of these three especially... -Cassie Turner aka Sharni Vinson is 22! That'd also be weird as he plays the boyfriend of 20 year old Jodi Gordon. -Mark Furze is 19? He only looks 17. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is quite off that they have Sharni playing a school girl, she could play an older teenager more believably, maybe if Cassie was meant to be 18 or 19 that would be more realistic. I don't think it's strange having a 27 year old playing the boyfriend of a 20 year old, loads of couples have bigger age gaps than that, remember, Martha went out with Jesse for a little while and he was older. My fiance is 14 years older than me and I don't feel weird about it, otherwise he wouldn't be my fiance! I don't think Mark Furze looks 17, he looks older than that. As someone else previously said, it would make more sense if Cassie and Ric were meant to be the same age as Robbie and Tasha, they look too old to be 15/16.
Tamxxx Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Thats why I thought it was a bit weird , cassie should be hanging around with haley, not matilda there is a 7 year gap between them. And cassie is haleys age in real life. I think the story lines would of been much better if they gave cassie as a 20 year old.
Ashirr-Leigh Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 I don't think Cassie looks too bad for the age she's supposed to be. I mean, there are heaps of teenagers who look alot older than they are. What does make her look stupid though is when she tries to too hard to look 15/16.. whatever age she's meant to be. Like, in today's Uk episode, they had her hair in bunches. That just looked stupid.
lolajaney Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Lol 7 yrs ain't that much... my hubby is 11 years older than me Jane
