The best years were the very first few years in my opinion. Since the mid nineties onwards the show has been, more or less, adequate. The Shannon/Selina/Angel era stands out as a moment of glory though. Since 2005 the show has gone downhill in a lot of ways but improved in others.

From beginning to 1997 H&A had a great spark and this whole period is my favourite, I couldnt miss an episode... I feel it lost that spark slightly during the late 90’s, but I loved it all the same...since 2000 it hasn’t properly regained it other than in dribs and drabs here and there…

I watch it as a different show now, moved on with the times…but I have to admit I think I only watch now out of curiosity, as far as how the show is heading and to follow the characters that were apart of it during my favourite era’s… Having said that there have been and are still some great storytelling, top continuity and direction over the last few years…

i like both. They both had a thing that I enjoyed. The early episodes were really good and i enjoyed them. The newer episodes brought more fantasy to it.

Prefer the older years, 97/98 & 2001/2002/2003/2004 were it's best times.

2005 simply sucked, it turned ultra soapy & over the top re-hashing a multitude of storylines much crappier than before. They tried to capitalise on the Bec & Lleyton hype giving her way too much screentime and a storyline that lasted a whole bloody year! And the younger cast, not as compelling as previous years. Cassie & Matilda = ugh. Give me Chloe/Curtis/Selina and Kirsty/Nick/Jade/Seb anyday.
