Chloe's Death

If I hadn't known already that it was Chloe that died I would have so believed that it was Martha. That episode was really cleverly done.

They didn't make it particularly clear at the end that it was Chloe and not Martha. My dad who watches occasionally thought it was "the girl with the broken spine" who had died.

[Eddie]

But didn't Irene give it away at the end of the episode?

When she was crying to Hyde on the beach and saying that she only had a broken arm and now she is dead?

Yeah she did

But I'm talking about in the hospital room, when your supposed to be shocked at the revelation that it was Chloe who died, the way she was filmed it was hard to tell it was her and not Martha.

It was very well done right up until the moment that Irene screamed. The actual revelation that someone had died and that it was Chloe was a bit messy I thought. I would have preferred something a bit more dramatic, where we saw Chloe and Irene talking and then suddenly Chloe took ill. Then the cut to Alf in the hall and hearing Irene scream perhaps. It was just a bit anti-climactic to me that one scene Chloe is fine the next she is dead, with nothing in between. It didnt get me teared up at all and it should have, and would have, had we actually seen signs of the death. I suppose theyd already gone through the whole resucitation thing with Martha earlier in the episode though so they couldnt show us that again.

Id score it 8 out of 10, just felt Chloe deserved more of a showy final scene, since she was such a big part of the show.

I agree there. One minute she had a broken arm and the next thing we know is that she died of a fatal embolism. It was a bit rushed all right.

But I love the way it was done. Alf in the hospital and then the flashbacks to the crash site.

But wasn't Irene's screams brilliant! I thought she did it so well, and the way she collapsed into Barry's arms! Bring on Diana!

Irene was brilliant in that beach scene.

Can't wait the dramatic confrontations with Diana.

I thought Irene was screaming at the thought of having to spend the night with Morag.
