I am quite sad that she passed away, I never watched Neighbours much at all, but I did watch Prisoner and I liked her as Reb Kean. I had hoped one day, she would grace the shores of Summer Bay with her talents.

]]>52338Sat, 05 Feb 2022 20:46:53 +0000Finalehttps://www.backtothebayforum.com/topic/52841-finale/ I think it did what it needed to do. It shut the book but I don't think this is the last of our Erinsbuddies. I type this while in a Beer/Burger haze.

The tour, maybe a few odd books.

I think my anger/grief has subsided but I'm still giving Channel 5 the boot.

What's your take?

Has to be 1997-2000's Bill, Toad, Anne, Lance and Amy for me.

]]>52398Sun, 06 Mar 2022 15:33:43 +0000Neighbours...the early years?https://www.backtothebayforum.com/topic/48504-neighboursthe-early-years/ Hello Friends,

I searched for a thread but I couldn’t find one.

Did anyone else enjoy the early years of Neighbours?

I remember Home and Away was on first then Neighbours after.

Did Scott Robinson pass his HSC the second time around?

Did someone finally give the first Lucy Robinson a nasal decongestant?

What happened to Billy Kennedy? Did he ever return?

What happened to Harold and Madge?

Are there any Ramsey’s still in Ramsey street?

]]>48504Sun, 27 Jan 2019 23:02:22 +0000Going downhillhttps://www.backtothebayforum.com/topic/48717-going-downhill/ I used to prefer Neighbours to H&A admittedly (mostly just because I appreciated that it was more diverse, where as H&A is more of an escape from reality), but the storylines lately have been kind of dumb and overdramatic.

I loved Sonya's cancer storyline (although felt it was very rushed). The acting was great so it felt very real, but since then its just been a bit of a mess.

Elly with her relationship and baby drama, all of the inter-family dating (Leo/Therese/Paul, Bea/Ned/Elly, Mark/Elly/Chloe, Kyle/Amy/Gary...), the Finn stuff...Don't get me wrong, I love drama but I'm definitely preferring the drama of H&A lately.

]]>48717Sun, 12 May 2019 02:21:02 +0000Neighbours to introduce transgender characterhttps://www.backtothebayforum.com/topic/48593-neighbours-to-introduce-transgender-character/ https://www.heraldsun.com.au/entertainment/fiona-byrne/transgender-role-model-georgie-stone-signs-on-to-neighbours/news-story/92700761affca7a7b860500f2fbd45a8

This is a positive move for the show, sadly they are light years ahead of 100% straight and white H&A.

]]>48593Sun, 24 Mar 2019 11:15:58 +0000Neighbours and Prisoner: CBH Crossover.https://www.backtothebayforum.com/topic/48531-neighbours-and-prisoner-cbh-crossover/ Neighbours is about to have a crossover with fellow, but long gone Aussie Soap Prisoner, known internationally as Prisoner: Cell Block H.

Spoiler

Digital Spy reports that:

"Jane Clifton and Betty Bobbitt, who played Margo Gaffney and Judy Bryant in the Aussie prison soap, will reunite with Jackie Woodburne and Colette Mann for a special episode. Although now known as Susan Kennedy and Sheila Canning in Neighbours, Prisoner fans will remember them as Julie 'Chook' Egbert and Doreen Burns.

The reunion, taking place worlds away from Wentworth Detention Centre, will see Sheila and Susan welcome their former cell-mates to a book group meeting." This will be interesting to see how they integrate the characters.

I am so excited for this.

I saw a video on YouTube where it says 1985 vs. 2017 and they actually used old footage that was really Paul talking to another character to show him and their Mum and was a crazy thing to do, they absolutely had nothing that would imply it back then, and it seems weird to me to do this, They should have made it be Scott's at least that would have been slightly realistic.

]]>46978Sun, 27 Nov 2016 18:19:14 +0000Possible returnees as one ex Neighbours returned to work on another serieshttps://www.backtothebayforum.com/topic/46830-possible-returnees-as-one-ex-neighbours-returned-to-work-on-another-series/ As loathed as I am to believe many posts I always hold out the possiblity that an ex character could return one day. While reading an Aussie TV site I was shocked to hear an ex Neighbours has returned to Australia to work which Im shocked after my EX SOURCE on the set told me what had happen and although im a way it be fun IF he came back Im doubting it would given the bad feelings with his departure years ago. Like many sometimes actors return from the states for a short time yet to come back to work for awhile on another series?

It things like this that give fan hope others would come back. I HATE when agents post for stars and say things like "Ill come back if the time right?" or hint at a return which caused one star to make her fan go wild online. Actors need to be honest. i was told by my contact that one ex character had put the show in her "past" yet I seen she tweeted to a fan who want her to return with "awesome" which made me see it NOT her but her PR people as I told other fans

Yes It be nice to get 6 actors to come back yet after seeing the reaction of Margot fans at a theater its unlikely!

whenever an actor returns from the States I always get the idea IT could happen so although Im not getting excited I thinking has Neighbours called him and said
"Hey mate would you like to do a spot before you go back to the states?" Again another what could be?
